NATIONAL NATTERINS’ 

#1 Name 

The name of this organization is and shall continue to be the AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION.
It is
not a club and should not be referred as such.
This Association shall be a nonpartisan, nonsectarian and nonprofit organization whose members shall have the sole right to govern and control all of its activities through national officers.  The national officers of the Association shall be those provided for in the bylaws and as authorized by the Articles of Incorporation. 

#2  Mailing List 

The ABWA membership list is not generally rented for commercial purposes.  Permission to mail or solicit by phone to the membership list is occasionally granted to those companies chosen to provide special Association services to the entire membership—such as insurance, financial and travel services.  The mailings are done at the expense of the service provider.  Members may request that their names not be provided to anyone outside the Association.  The only mailing which would then be sent would be Women in Business magazine and official Association correspondence. 

Chapter presidents may request name (s) of other chapter presidents within a limited radius of their chapters to distribute information on upcoming educational opportunities, share newsletters, share local publicity or information pertinent to other chapters.  The names of other chapter presidents may not be used to distribute raffle tickets, fund-raising requests or to solicit customers for non-ABWA functions or to publicize activities in conflict or competition with regional, district or national activities. 

#3  Hosting 

The chapter may invite dignitaries to attend and speak at chapter functions.  It is appropriate to provide a fee or honorarium to professional speakers, a cost that can be shared by co-hosting an event or meeting with another chapter.  A one-year gift membership is sometimes considered an appropriate honorarium and the chapter can get credit for sponsoring a new member.

Members $25.00 per month – minimum six month membership – first three months free last three months $75.00 

Non-members - $50.00 per month – minimum four month membership.
