Can You Believe It!

Text Box: Can You Believe It!

Text Box:

We were just saying Happy New Year to each other. Then it was Valentine’s Day. And St. Patrick’s Day. And My Birthday! Then Mothers Day and Memorial Day! Did the days go so quickly when we were just kids growing up? Didnt it seem like forever when we were waiting for the special occasions or holidays? Well, here it is almost summer.

Does it not seem forever and a day ago that it was just “a thought that the ABWA National Conference might be in South-ern California? Well, just as all those other special holidays have come and gone, this event will soon be part of the past.

Don’t let it come and go without your being a part of it. Especially if you have never attended a national conference—don’t let this one pass you by. It may be years before another ABWA National Conference is only minutes away.

Did you receive your ABWA Women in Business this month? Are you in for a treat with Candace Bushnell and Karen Taylor-Good as Keynote Presenters. I can tell you for sure, Karen Taylor-Good is awesome! Then theres the entertainment—Papa Doo Run Runs—did you read about them? Well, they alone may be worth it all!!!

But wait, there’s more. We all know that learning should go on until the day we die. We know that we need to keep our minds sharp—whether or not we continue with our career or retire. In-deed, we need to keep our minds stimulated. Well then—read about all the different workshops (ABWA calls them Breakout Sessions) and select your favorites.

Did you ever ask your manager at work if they would pay for some continuing education courses for you? Well, my thought is that it is always worth asking! Who knows, your manager may want to attend also. Show her your copy of Women in Business!

We will be taking a count at the next meeting of all members and guests who plan on attending. And by the way, since Placentia Stars is a sponsoring chapter, we do need some more helpers! See you Tuesday, June 27th!

One more quick note: A Million Thanks to Carol Smith and to Bryna for a fabulous job with our Business Associate Event! It was a totally grand affair!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ!!!!!!!

2006 ABWA National Women's Leadership Conference - Sept 27th thru Sept 30th

Three more General Meetings:

Sat. July 8th - Anaheim Hilton 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Sat. Aug 19th - Anaheim Hilton 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Sat. Sept. 16th - Anaheim Hilton 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

It is very important that ALL chapter members attend these meetings. The more people we have attend meetings the more point credit we get for our share of the profits from the conference. We are a sponsoring chapter and we committed to working this conference.

Everyone working the conference must wear the Purple Suit and the Scarf. You can purchase the material for $10 a yard and have your own suit made. Contact Barbara Bushere for the material. Barbara's Email: bbushere@earthlink.net and phone # (562) 431-6050.

Everyone must have a full paid registration or we do not get the credit for working. As a sponsoring chap-ter we get a $100 off the registration price. Our cost is $349. We will have the special reg. forms at our June chapter meeting and must be returned at the July 8th 2006 General Meeting. Do not register thru the Women in Business Magazine.

Our chapter is responsible for Three Plus Gift Baskets. We will have a basket party and put things together for the baskets. Save all your NEW items you have laying around the house you don't want and bring to the chapter meetings.

We also are responsible for door prizes a $5.00 - $10.00 value. We need your NEW items for this as well. Bring these items to the June meeting so we can get them to the co chairs of door prizes at the General meeting in July. We need to donate a minimum of 10 items. More the better.

Two rooms have been reserved at the Peacock Suites in Anaheim. A few blocks from the Anaheim Convention Center. Free parking & a shuttle to and from the convention center every 10 to 15 minutes. The cost is $100 per person for the week Sept 24th - Oct 1st. We still have two spots left. Contact Carol Smith at (714) 828-1497 or email at carolshair@hotmail.com. Money needs to be paid by July 1st.

Its Going To Be Lovely Days In Anheim!
